In 1837, Savarese invented the siphoïd glass ...,
The siphon is a glass vase, with a cylindrical or oval shape. The bottle neck is surrounded by a two pieces tin locker ring. The locker ring clips the bottle neck, on which you screw the siphon head (or tap) on the top of it. On the top of the bottle neck enters a glass tube allowing the liquid to get out of the bottle.

The figure shows here the superior part of a so called small lever siphoïd bottle. The bottle neck has an extra shape allowing the locker ring to hold, and to receive the rest of the tap which can then be screwed on it. A little rubber ring circling the top of the glass tube on its top, allows the water-proofness.
